Michael J. Rogers is a Republican politician and former law enforcement officer from Michigan. Born June 2, 1963 in Livonia and raised in Livingston County, he graduated from Howell High School and Adrian College before serving as a lieutenant in the U.S. Army (1985–1989) and then as an FBI Special Agent in Chicago. He represented Michigan's 26th district in the Michigan Senate from 1995 to 2001, then served as U.S. Representative for Michigan's 8th congressional district from 2001 to 2015, chairing the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence from 2011 to 2015. After leaving Congress he worked in cybersecurity and the private sector. He was the Republican nominee for U.S. Senate in 2024, losing narrowly to Elissa Slotkin, and is the Republican nominee again in 2026.
